Position requires on call weekly rotation schedule.

• Reading water meters, discontinuing and restoring water service to customers’ premises, removal of and resetting of meters, perform J.U.L.I.E. locates.
• Installation and/or maintenance of water mains, valves, services, meter settings, fire hydrants, and other duties assigned by foreperson or management.
• Follow all safety rules and safe operating procedures established by the company; keep accurate time and material records for performance purposes.
• Maintain mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, shut down, and adjust all equipment; use hand tools and learn water utility terms.
• Provide courteous service to internal and external contacts; available for after‑hours work and emergencies.

• Strong work ethic, verbal/written communication, time management, safety consciousness, mathematical, map reading, and team membership skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to start up, operate, shut down, and adjust equipment.

• High school degree (or equivalent) required.
• 0–2 years experience in the water industry preferred.
• Valid Illinois Class C driver license with clean MVR;
  Class D water license preferred or willingness to obtain within 3 years.
