Position: Dev/Research Engineer 2

Overview

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Dev/Research Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite in Pontiac, IL
. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary

Cullerton Group is seeking a Dev/Research Engineer to support the research, design, manufacturing, and testing of advanced mechanical components. This role focuses on hands-on development activities, including prototype builds, testing, inspection, and data analysis in a fast-paced engineering environment. The engineer will work closely with a small, collaborative team to support new product development and manufacturing process execution. This position blends engineering design, manufacturing support, and experimental testing.

Responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing processes to ensure design intent and quality standards are maintained
  • Perform part inspections using advanced imaging, metrology tools, and detailed documentation
  • Organize, record, and prepare components for prototype builds
  • Operate assembly equipment to build precision mechanical assemblies
  • Conduct testing, analyze results, and prepare detailed technical reports
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Ability to create basic models, engineering drawings, and perform common computations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail with organized record-keeping skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with common machining and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with component testing and data analysis
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with a small engineering team
