Shop Assistant

Pisani Property management Ltd (trading as Revolution Records) are seeking a passionate music enthusiast to join our team as we open the new Pontefract store (No connection to the Selby Store). This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing business from day one. You will be responsible for day-to-day shop operations, customer service, stock management, and helping to build our reputation in the local community.

The role is for 12 to 24 months, part-time work could be offered after this time.

• Provide exceptional customer service and expert advice on vinyl records, CDs, and music
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
• Operate the till, process sales, and handle cash and card transactions
• Provide information about products and services offered in the shop
• Receive, check, clean, grade, and price incoming stock
• Maintain shop displays and ensure the store is clean, organised, and welcoming
• Assist with stock rotation and inventory management
• Process online orders and handle customer enquiries (phone, email, in-person)
• Open and close the shop, including cashing up and banking
• Help create an engaging in-store atmosphere that attracts music lovers
• Contribute ideas for promotions, events, and growing the business
• Work collaboratively with part-time staff and management
• Participate in occasional out-of-hours promotional events and marketing activities
• Assist with inventory management, including stock checks and recording deliveries
• Support colleagues with various administrative tasks as needed
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers in English

• Genuine passion for music, particularly vinyl records and classic albums
• Good knowledge of music across multiple genres (Rock, Pop, Indie, Jazz, Soul, etc.)
• Excellent customer service skills and friendly, approachable manner
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English Desirable Skills
  • Retail or customer-facing experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience in record shops, music retail, or independent retail
  • Knowledge of vinyl grading standards and record collecting
  • Experience with EPOS/till systems
  • Social media skills (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Local knowledge of Pontefract and surrounding areas
