Job SummaryEnsure guests have an enjoyable dining experience by maintaining a positive attitude, knowing the product, delivering top-quality service, using guests’ names, and being a team player. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Training and ExperienceMust have experience with luxury resorts, restaurants, and fast-paced environments.
Job KnowledgeKnow basic service steps (how to wait a table) and have a good understanding of beverages—alcoholic and nonalcoholic.
Duties and Functions- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts as needed.
- Arrive to work on time, consistently.
- Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean, and in good repair.
- Hair must be clean and styled appropriately; management has final approval.
- Attend all required training, safety courses, office and departmental meetings.
- Report safety hazards, follow up that the hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
- Meet with Set Up Manager to review previous shift notes and day’s assignments.
- Coordinate weekly with Set Up Manager, Conference Services Director, and Assistant.
- Assign duties to Set-Up Attendants, ensuring that A.M. functions are set. Assist as needed.
- Thoroughly inspect all functions using the BEO and set-up checklist. Look for the details.
- After A.M. functions are set, assist Set Up Manager in assigning duties for the remainder of the day.
- Assist Set Up Attendants in physical set-up, cleaning and arranging of tables and equipment, according to the specified requirements.
- Accept responsibility for and assist with “refreshing” of functions.
- Responsible for receipt and issuance of any packages for Guests in the Conference and Catering Department.
- Accountable for maintenance and proper storage of all banquet equipment.
- Assist Set Up with orienting and training of newly hired Set Up Attendants; provide ongoing training for existing staff.
- Responsible for the performance of all Set Up Attendants; advise Set Up of any performance problems.
- During the shift, check all meeting rooms, breaks, and storage areas for proper service levels, neatness, cleanliness, and proper storage of equipment.
- Assist Set Up Manager in coordinating night shift’s work assignments.
- Monitor any breakage, damage, or loss of banquet equipment, furnishings, or rooms. Notify Set Up Manager.
- Eliminate safety hazards and report all injuries and accidents to the Set Up Manager or Conference Services Assistant or Director.
- Follow and enforce energy conservation and accident/loss prevention guidelines.
- Courteously respond to all guest requests; contact Set Up Manager or Conference Services Manager as needed.
- Set up all group name stands for each function.
- Perform other duties that support quality service as assigned by the Set Up Manager and Conference Services Coordinators.
