Position Overview

The Catering Sales Manager is a member-focused, revenue-driven leadership role responsible for selling, planning, and executing private events, social functions, and Club-sponsored experiences. This position serves as the primary liaison between members, guests, and internal teams to ensure events are thoughtfully designed, flawlessly executed, and reflective of the Club’s service standards and culture. Blending sales acumen with hospitality expertise, the Catering Sales Manager owns the event lifecycle from initial inquiry and contract through execution and post-event follow-up while working collaboratively with culinary, service, and operations leadership to deliver exceptional experiences and maximize Club utilization.

Key Responsibilities Sales, Marketing & Business Development
  • Actively promote the Club’s private event spaces and catering services to members and approved prospective clients, in accordance with Club bylaws.
  • Respond in due time to inquiries, conduct site tours, and present customized event proposals that highlight the Club’s amenities and service capabilities.
  • Meet expected Catering Sales Targets
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing internal marketing strategy to drive awareness and participation in catered events across all demographics.
  • Identify and cultivate new event opportunities, repeat business, and member referrals.
Event Planning & Execution
  • Partner with members and clients to plan weddings, social events, business meetings, banquets, luncheons and dinners, and Club-Sponsored functions.
  • Coordinate all event details including menus, room setups, décor, entertainment, audio/visual needs, parking, timelines, and staffing.
  • Prepare detailed event contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and function sheets; ensure all agreements are signed in advance of events.
  • Personally oversee events as needed to ensure execution aligns with contracted details and service expectations, and to develop a plan for a future Banquet Captain/Manager.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Beverage Manager, Hospitality Manager, and Beach House Club Manager to align menus, pricing, staffing, and service standards.
  • Collaborate with House Committee members and Club leadership to develop and execute signature Club events and special programming.
  • Communicate event details clearly and consistently to all departments to ensure seamless execution.
Financial & Administrative Accountability
  • Partner with culinary and F&B leadership to establish competitive and profitable pricing for catered events.
  • Ensure accurate billing, timely submission of paperwork, and proper documentation for all events.
  • Maintain detailed records of past, current, and prospective clients within the Club’s event management systems.
  • Reserve space and coordinate logistics for internal programs such as Kid’s Camp and other Club initiatives.
Team Leadership & Service Standards
  • Provide direction and support to event-related staff including receptionists and housemen.
  • Uphold professional appearance, hospitality standards, and service culture throughout all events.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador of the Club during events, demonstrating poise, professionalism, and proactive service.
Education, Experience & Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in catering sales, event management, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Experience in private clubs, hotels, resorts, or upscale event venues preferred.
