Production Superintendent – Food Manufacturing | Ponca City, OK (2nd Shift)

Salary: $75K–$85K + up to 14% bonus
Shift: 2nd Shift (4 PM–2 AM, M–F, occasional weekends, OT for 6th/7th day)
Reports To: Plant/Operations Management
Direct Reports: 4 Production Supervisors

About the Role

We are hiring a Production Superintendent to lead daily operations in our food manufacturing plant. This role focuses on delivering high-quality products efficiently, maintaining USDA and food safety compliance, and fostering a safe, productive work environment. You will oversee production teams, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement across shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage plant production, manpower, and equipment to meet quality, safety, and efficiency targets (93% production efficiency).
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, food safety, and company regulations
    .
  • Lead, train, and mentor production supervisors and staff.
  • Implement process improvements, waste reduction, and operational best practices.
  • Coordinate communication between shifts, departments, and maintenance for smooth operations.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 4+ years of leadership experience in food manufacturing/production.
  • Proven ability to lead production teams in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory compliance, and USDA food safety standards.
  • Highly organized, independent, and able to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-shift and departmental coordination.
Nice-to-Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Meat Science, Business, or related field
    .
  • Experience with budgeting, capital planning, and production cost optimization.
  • Familiarity with McDonald's or other food service production standards.
Work Environment
  • Production floor: hot/cold temperatures, refrigerated/freezer areas, loud environment.
  • Must be comfortable with strong odors and lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally.
