Job Summary

The Production Supervisor organizes and directs work on the processing floor to meet production schedules while ensuring assignments are completed in alignment with operational expectations related to food safety, plant safety, quality, productivity, and cleanliness. This role leads and supports hourly associates while driving operational performance, maintaining safety standards, and supporting employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position supports either 1st shift (approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) OR 2nd shift (approximately 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM).

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
  • Directs daily production floor operations to meet required production schedules and operational goals including yield, efficiency, uptime, and labor cost targets.
  • Ensures hourly associates perform work in compliance with standards for food safety, plant safety, product quality, productivity, and sanitation.
  • Monitors and verifies quality checks to ensure compliance with product quality standards and food safety requirements, minimizing operational risk.
  • Leads hourly associates in safety and risk management practices to protect employees and minimize exposure to injury, loss, or liability.
  • Supports employee and labor relations initiatives to improve engagement and performance across the workforce.
  • Leads daily employee activities including staffing assignments, coaching, training, and performance goal setting.
  • Collaborates with operations leadership to develop and implement training plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Participates in process improvement, product development, or operational efficiency initiatives as assigned.
  • Supervises, coaches, and supports employees to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant production operations.
  • Ensures production areas maintain required cleanliness and operational standards.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement across production teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of related production or manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Progressive supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment required.

    Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience supporting process improvement or product development initiatives preferred.
  • Experience developing or implementing training plans preferred.
  • Experience improving employee engagement or addressing labor-related challenges preferred.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Work environment noise levels are typically very loud.
  • Position requires majority of work to be conducted in refrigerated production environments.
  • Occasional work is required in freezer areas with extremely cold temperatures.
  • Employee must be able to stand and move throughout production areas for extended periods as required by operational needs.
