Safety Coordinator | Manufacturing | 2nd Shift
Our client is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support plant leadership in building and maintaining a proactive safety culture. This role focuses on hazard identification, incident prevention, training, and compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. You will partner closely with operations to improve workplace safety and ensure all employees have the tools and knowledge to work safely.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3PM-12AM | 2nd Shift | Weekends as needed
Responsibilities Safety Programs & Compliance- Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and workplace assessments.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and EHS regulations.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant safety programs.
- Review and revise existing safety policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify trends and recommend preventive measures.
- Conduct root cause analysis and assign corrective actions.
- Track corrective actions to closure and verify effectiveness.
- Lead the incident reporting and investigation process for the plant.
- Conduct specialized safety training as needed.
- Develop and deliver monthly safety training for all employees.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials to improve comprehension and compliance.
- Partner with operations to reinforce safe work practices and promote a strong safety culture.
- Collaborate with supervisors and teams lead to identify hazards and recommend improvements.
- Provide guidance on PPE use, hazard controls, and safe operating procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and risk reduction.
- Experience conducting safety training, audits, and incident investigations.
- Comfortable working in environments with strong odors, loud noise, hot/cold temperatures, refrigerated areas, and freezer zones.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (assembly, machine shop, production, etc.)
- Experience leading or influencing safety initiatives in a fast‑paced, high‑volume facility.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (highly preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and make decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPE, CSP, or CIH.
- Experience in food manufacturing or similar regulated environments.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking on level surfaces throughout the facility.
- Occasional reaching, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Work may occur in hot, cold, loud, or strong‑odor environments.
- Exposure to manufacturing areas requires PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
