Position: Flow Analyst - AMP

Overview

Flow Analyst - AMP - Pompano Beach, FL, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotational weekends

The Flow Cytometry Analyst is responsible for daily data analysis and technical interpretation of all flow cytometry data generated in the clinical cytometry laboratory. Testing areas include leukemia and lymphoma phenotyping, stem cell enumeration, platelet analysis, lymphocyte subset enumeration and DNA analysis by flow cytometry. Assistance in specific laboratory projects as deemed appropriate by the clinical flow cytometry management staff and medical staff.

Communicates with physicians and other clients regarding test results and interpretation when deemed appropriate by the medical direction of the group. Works with management personnel to ensure efficient and technically correct systems and procedures in the clinical cytometry laboratory that includes QA/QC of reagents, instrumentation, proficiency testing, etc.

Pay range: $58,656+ per year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates daily clinical cytometry workflow and data interpretation with physicians within the group.
  • Reviews the daily technical systems for assurance of quality and efficiency.
  • Assists laboratory personnel advising of specimen preparation, specimen requirements, test conditions and test procedures to our clients. Consults with staff and clients regarding technical interpretation of daily clinical cytometry cases.
  • Works with QA/QC staff in development and oversight of daily work in the lab.
  • Participates in laboratory research and development projects as needed. Responsible for maintaining continuing education in the area of flow cytometry and the application of the technology in the analysis of various disease conditions.
  • Demonstrates organization skills as indicated by structuring daily workflow, goals, objectives and deadlines to meet company standards and for continuous advancement and improvement of current methods.
  • Stays informed on all company policies and procedures and should demonstrate interest in areas related to laboratory operations.
Qualifications

Required

Work Experience:

  • Two years

Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Flow Cytometers, Laboratory instrumentation, General office equipment.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time;
    Exposure to laboratory chemicals and unfixed tissues;
    Some lifting of items up to 15 lbs;
    Some benchwork requiring pipetting (repetitive hand motion).
  • Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions. Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong professional, ethical, and personal integrity. Excellent decision-making abilities.

Knowledge:

  • ASCP certification MT or MLT; or special analyst license preferred

Skills:

  • Flow Cytometry of bone marrow, blood, tissues, fluids, etc.;
    Knowledge of leukemic disease states.
