Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Machinist
We are a machining-focused manufacturing company seeking an experienced Senior CAM Programmer to support and optimize CNC production. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving CNC programs for advanced multi-function machining equipment. The ideal candidate will work closely with shop personnel to ensure consistent quality, efficient throughput, and reliable machining processes.
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $36–$40 per hour (based on experience)
Create, modify, and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis turning and milling centers using Solid Works-based CAM software (CAMWorks preferred).
Perform independent simulation and verification using external software to ensure proper machine motion, tool clearances, and process integrity before release to production.
Select tooling and establish optimal cutting parameters (feeds and speeds) for various metals, including aluminum, copper, stainless steel, titanium, and cold-rolled steel.
Design and communicate work holding and fixture concepts to support safe, repeatable, and efficient machining.
Collaborate with machinists and shop personnel to troubleshoot issues, update programs, and improve cycle times, tool life, and overall consistency.
Maintain standardized programming methods through tool libraries, program structure, and clear documentation.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in a production or job shop environment.
Advanced experience with Solid Works-integrated CAM software (CAMWorks strongly preferred).
Hands-on programming experience with multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, including mill/turn or other multi-tasking machines.
