About The PositionAs a Director of Engineering for Dometic Marine Boat Living division, you will lead and coach the product development team for boat living. This role is responsible for all aspects of new product development, test engineering, and sustaining engineering activities. This director provides innovative and sustainable solutions and delivers product specifications with the in‑house manufacturing team that meet customer needs.
They will apply human and capital resources efficiently to suit business requirements. The primary product areas for pleasure crafts and work boats are air conditioning and refrigeration.
Your Main Responsibilities- Lead the product development team to plan and execute all product development activities.
- Control planning, scheduling, and resource allocations for multiple development projects.
- Lead Dometic Product Development Process assuring accurate, timely and profitable implementation.
- Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the company’s strategic goals in boat living.
- Develop strategic planning, formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for product development.
- Execute near-term targets superbly on what’s most important right now, within budget and timeframe.
- Maintain and expand company’s technology leadership position in products and sustainability.
- Manage talent and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands‑on project management.
- Adapt cutting‑edge HVAC technologies from home and automotive applications for marine environments.
- Liaison within house manufacturing team and worldwide network of suppliers.
- Ensure that product is designed for specific customer needs, but with wider applications and competition in mind.
- Occasionally travels, such as to resolve quality concerns.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

- Minimum four‑year bachelor’s degree in engineering. Master’s degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum 8 or more years of experience in product development, or manufacturing engineering.
- Minimum 5 or more years of supervisory/management experience.
- Excellent skills in staff management and mentoring.
- Exceptional skills in product development management.
- Solid skills in multi‑functional project management in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong sense of urgency, enthusiasm, and a proven history of relentless execution.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate and lead diverse personalities across functions and sites.
