The Vice President, Human Resources, innovates, delivers, and collaborates on Human Resources operational functions related to talent strategy / development, organizational design, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, workplace investigations, stakeholder partnership / negotiations, total rewards, risk management, community learning, wellness, and workforce equity / belonging.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Successful strategies supporting Human Resources in multi-stakeholder, multi-location organizations.
- Risk, control, and compliance models in HR.
- Leaves and accommodation management strategies, systems, and compliance.
- Learning strategies and blended approaches for a learner-centric experience.
- Innovative solutions maximizing knowledge and skill acquisition.
- Strategic ideas in EEO, Title IX, civil rights compliance, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Knowledge of relevant laws such as the Labor and Employment Law, Clery Act, VAWA, Campus SaVE Act, ADA, and CANRA.
- Analysis and management of EEO, Title IX, civil rights, and restorative justice programs integrated with broader people and culture initiatives.
- Investigation, negotiation, dispute resolution, mediation, and arbitration strategies.
- Building cross-functional partnerships to understand challenges.
- Diversity, inclusion, belonging, equity, antiracism, and equal opportunity principles.
- Research, data mining, and people analytics strategies.
Abilities:
- Data analysis to guide strategy.
- Proficiency with HR software, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Success in employee attraction, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Logical reasoning and data analysis skills.
- Investigating and mediating HR complaints.
- Expedited resolution of employee relations issues.
- Auditing HR processes for compliance and alignment.
- Decision-making and recommendation skills.
- Quick learning and application of rules and regulations.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Leadership and direction for team members.
- Adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years of related experience OR Master’s/JD/Doctorate + 3 years of related experience OR equivalent training and experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders to assess and improve People and Culture programs.
- Provide expertise in learning, process innovation, rewards, investigations, and performance management.
- Foster a performance-based culture with measurable objectives and accountability.
- Lead, assess, and mentor team members.
- Develop and deliver impactful training programs.
- Oversee investigations and manage Title IX and Equity case personnel.
- Innovate HR learning and development operations.
- Manage departmental budgets in collaboration with the Chief HR Officer.
Additional duties include performing other tasks as assigned, with some work outside standard hours.
