THE POSITION
Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill one full-time vacancy for the position of Clinical Therapist II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP).
Tri‑City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. The schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern: three twelve‑hour days per workweek and one alternating eight‑hour day every other week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.
The first one to two months of training will follow a 5‑day‑per‑week, 40‑hour‑per‑week schedule. Shift and schedule details will be determined by the supervisor.
Examples of shifts:
- Day Shifts
: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Night Shifts
: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM
Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.
Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as Clinical Therapist II on a full‑time basis for the MCCP. The Clinical Therapist II will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The Clinical Therapist II will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.
This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Respond to client’s crisis calls with or without law enforcement
- Perform field‑based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families
- Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services
- Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reactions to them
- Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response

- Clinical Therapist II:
Equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
- Clinical Therapist II:
Two (2) years of experience providing professional counseling/therapy services in a behavioral health setting.
- Clinical Therapist II:
Possession of valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment. - Clinical Therapist II:
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.
Candidates bilingual in Spanish and proficient in computer skills and electronic health records are preferred.
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities, and skills may be considered qualifying.
