Job SummaryThis is a College of Dental Medicine Full-Time Administrative position within Western University of Health Sciences and is offered in conjunction with a Faculty appointment. Together, the administrative role ( PCN 998879) and the faculty role ( PCN 998435) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE / 5 days per week).

The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of the College of Dental Medicine reports to the Dean and plays an integral role within the leadership team of CDM , responsible for guiding and overseeing the development, evaluation, and improvement of curriculum and assessment strategies. This role has a dual focus: ensuring the academic rigor and quality of the program and aligning them with institutional goals and external accreditation requirements.
The AD AA will provide strategic oversight and operational management of academic programs, student performance, and institutional policies in collaboration with the OAA.
This role ensures academic excellence, supports student success through proactive integrated strategies, and leads the Office of Academic Affairs with a commitment to collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement. Its primary responsibilities include the general oversight and coordination of the pre-doctoral education program; accreditation; developing and collecting academic data; academic outcomes assessment; developing, monitoring and implementing a system of student evaluation of instruction, including student and alumni surveys;
providing oversight related to faculty promotion and tenure; coordinating the development of College policies and procedures; supervising staff of the Office of Academic Affairs; advising the administration on strategic and long-range planning and other duties as assigned.
The Associate Dean is a member of the Dean’s Leadership Team; serves as Chair of the Outcomes Assessment Committee;
Chair of the Curriculum Design Committee; and is an ex‑officio member of the Faculty Evaluation and Promotion/Tenure Committee;
Admissions and Selection Committee;
Student Performance Committee and others as assigned.
