Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of the Office of Title IX & Equal Opportunity Compliance Initiatives (“OTIXEO”) or designee, the Clery Compliance Specialist serves as the campus official responsible for compliance with the regulatory requirements as set forth by the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy, Campus Crime Statistics Act, and Stop Campus Hazing Act and will serve as the Case Manager for the University’s Threat Assessment Team and CARE / CARES teams.

Working in collaboration with the campus Security Department and other campus offices, the Clery Compliance Specialist serves as the expert resource for all laws and regulations as outlined in the Federal Clery Act as well as laws and regulations pertaining to the processing, retention, release, and disposition of Security and Clery records.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional policies and practices specific to the employment and/or academic environment.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare accurate reports.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Skill in examining and re‑engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide technical advice and information to faculty and staff in area of expertise.
  • Ability to develop and implement new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide effective and appropriate advice and expertise to all levels within the University community.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Experience with crime prevention programs, procedures and practices, as well as safety training administration.
  • Knowledge of federal and state public safety reporting requirements and other applicable crime data reporting.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
