Job Summary

To provide research assistance to faculty.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • The ability to effectively, professionally and tactfully interact and communicate with faculty, students, and industry professionals
  • The ability to manage projects and assignments in an efficient and effective manner
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of optometric examination equipment and some rehabilitative equipment
  • Knowledge of basic formulas and deductive reasoning skills
  • The ability to effectively gather information from a variety of sources, compile and analyze information
Required Qualifications
  • Education:

    Student enrolled in any program with Western University of Health Sciences in good academic standing.
  • Student must meet Federal Work Study (FWS) qualifications, which are:
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
    • Must have a completed current FAFSA
    • Must have remaining financial aid unmet need
    • Must be in good academic standing at Western University of Health Sciences
Preferred Qualifications
  • College of Optometry students preferred
  • Experience:

    Volunteerism and strong study skills preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with research projects, literature review, etc.
  • Assist with subject recruitment and data collection
  • Other duties as assigned;
    The University/College has the right to add or change duties at any time.

Work Schedule

Approximately 3 hours per week/varies
