College of Education and Integrative Studies Associate Dean (MPP III)

About the College: The College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS) at Cal Poly Pomona is dedicated to empowering students with the knowledge, creativity, and social awareness required to excel as leaders in local and global environments. With an emphasis on interdisciplinary education, student-centered learning, and community engagement grounded in collective consciousness, CEIS fosters an innovative academic environment where scholars and professionals collaborate to advance knowledge and address contemporary challenges.
CEIS is one of eight academic colleges at Cal Poly Pomona and uniquely offers programs spanning undergraduate, credential, graduate, and doctoral levels. The College prepares students for impactful careers in education, early childhood studies, social and public service, and other interdisciplinary fields. Students benefit from high-impact learning experiences, including internships, field placements, clinical practice opportunities, and service-learning projects, which foster meaningful connections with schools, organizations, and the surrounding area, underscoring the College’s commitment to developing socially responsible professionals equipped to contribute to their chosen fields and society at large.
The College consists of four departments:
1) Early Childhood Studies;
2) Education, which offers credentials including Education Specialist, Multiple Subject, and Single Subject, as well as a Master of Arts in Education with options in Curriculum and Instruction or Special Education;
3) Educational Leadership, which provides a Preliminary Administrative Services credential, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership, and a Doctoral Program in PK-12 Educational Leadership or Community College and Postsecondary Education; and
4) Liberal Studies, encompassing Interdisciplinary General Education and Liberal Studies Programs. Furthermore, the College includes the Student Success Center, Credential Services, and Clinical Placement Office.
About the Position: The Associate Dean will work closely with the Dean on various responsibilities, including academic programming, staff supervision and development, student success, faculty recruitment, evaluation, and development, as well as accreditation and process improvement, and budget management. Key responsibilities and duties are outlined below:
Academic Program: Lead and manage academic programs across undergraduate, credential, master’s, and doctoral levels. Coordinate curriculum updates, new course proposals, and degree developments. Support faculty through evaluations and instructional guidance to maintain high teaching standards. Oversee daily college operations, including committees and activities related to accreditation, program reviews, student appeals, curriculum, and budgeting. Manage Credential Services and Clinical Placement Offices to ensure smooth functioning and alignment with institutional goals.
