Conduct teaching, service, patient care activities and scholarly activities in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the college and University with a primary role at We Care Dental Rancho Mirage.

Required Qualifications

Education:

DDS or DMD or equivalent degree.
Experience:

Minimum of five years clinical experience with demonstrated managerial and mentoring skills.
Dental Licensure:
Must have active California license or be qualified to obtain licensure in California.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the Western

U Vehicle Use Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of an accredited residency program in advanced general dentistry (GPR or AEGD).
3-5 years of clinical practice are preferred.
Experience in academics, clinical research, and private practice is desirable.
Demonstrated dental practice management experience.

List comments regarding work hours. Usual hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with the possibility of an earlier or later start time. Evening or weekends may be required. May be required to travel to CDM sites including but not limited to sites located in Pomona, El Monte, and Chino Hills.

Job Duty:
Teaching

Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum, methods of instruction, and those aspects of student life which relate to the dental educational process as assigned.

Effectively fulfill lecture, seminar, clinical assignments, and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Independently design and present a course, or portion of a course, utilizing an appropriate combination of instructional methodologies, including lecture, seminar, laboratory, problem-based learning, case-based learning, and/or online modules as assigned.

Prepare appropriate student assessments in a course or a portion of a course including quizzes, examinations, projects, oral examinations, portfolios, and/or clinical performance evaluations as assigned.

Conduct classes and clinic assignments according to the published schedule.

Maintain intellectual integrity and strive for academic excellence.

At the beginning of each course, provide students with a syllabus indicating material to be covered, related assignments, competencies to be achieved, and methods of evaluation.

Maintain current records of the progress, including grades, of each student enrolled in the class.

Keep on file in an appropriate location an outline and list of goals and objectives for each lecture, including terminal Western

U College of Dental Medicine competencies supported by that lecture.

Assist with the implementation of an efficient, patient-centered dental practice that supports the educational mission of the College.

Assist with the implementation of the continuum of the dental students’ clinical experience from the foundational clinical skills in the dental simulation clinic to patient-centered care that integrates basic and behavioral science, as appropriate.
