PCU Nurse - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

Seeking an experienced PCU nurse to provide care on a 424-bed Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry floor. The facility is a comprehensive stroke center and Level II Trauma center, providing complex care for PCI and open-heart surgery patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for heart failure, CABG, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, renal failure, and respiratory failure.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including the use of rapid response/code teams.
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines.
• Conduct non-invasive airway management and ensure compliance with isolation precautions/PPE.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with the Epic charting system required.
• Patient ratio experience of 4:1.
