Essential Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive intern to join the Maintenance Team this summer. The ideal candidate will gain hands‑on experience while supporting maintenance and reliability initiatives within a food manufacturing plant, with a focus on Preventive Maintenance (PM) optimization and maintenance task improvement. The intern will help refine maintenance tasks to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with food safety requirements.

  • Review and optimize

    Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks for production and packaging equipment.
  • Ensure PM content aligns with food safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Support maintenance troubleshooting and basic Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
  • Observe maintenance workflows and document standard practices.
  • Assist with updates and data entry in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

Education
  • Attendinga four-year college or university to attaina degree in Mechanical

    Engineering,or a related field; or already awarded bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Required Skills
  • Clear written communication and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams/SharePoint).
  • Interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional plant teams.
  • Ability toobserveprocesses andidentifyimprovement opportunities.
  • Interest in maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing operations.
  • Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude.
  • Comfort learning CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.
Skills Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
