Property Adjuster Trainee – Finance

Join us in Pocatello, as we look for a trainee with investigative skills to handle complex claims in nearby areas.
✅ Field role:
Work directly in the field to assess and resolve property claims.
✅ Show your expertise:
Investigative or contractor experience preferred.
✅ Make an impact:
Work on diverse property claims and grow with a leading organization.
- Under direct supervision, investigate losses, negotiate settlements, and maintain adequate production levels.
- Examine claims forms, policies, endorsements, and client instructions to determine coverages.
- Shadow an adjuster, obtain official reports, inspect physical damage, and compare claim information with evidence.
- Set loss reserves and prepare reports summarizing required information for client, local, state, and federal government.
- Determine liability, issue settlement checks, file regulatory documents, dispose salvage, and pursue subrogation when appropriate.
- Control claims costs, maintain expected caseload, and keep professional knowledge through continuing education.
- Review and approve reports on losses exceeding $10,000, create day‑to‑day agenda with manager assistance, conduct roof inspections as needed, and uphold the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.
- Participate in special projects or perform duties in other areas as requested.
- College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of Crawford and Company basic property class and ongoing education required for advancement.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and mathematical ability, and solid time‑management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Valid driver’s license and completion of continued education requirements outlined by Crawford Educational Services.
- Variable schedule including on‑call; may require work beyond normal business hours and travel outside normal hours.
