• Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region s Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care.

• Assist with the nursing care of patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of the department and hospital practice and policies.
• Responsible for the preparation, disbursement of surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation – pre, intra, and post-operatively.
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles of asepsis.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the standards of AORN guidelines.
• Assume responsibility for clinical competence and professional development.
• Participate in the responsible management of all departmental resources.
• Takes call as required by the department.

Job Requirements:

• Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or Certified Surgical Technologist
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
