Job Description Summary

As the Building Maintenance Technician, you will ensure all environmental conditions are maintained at all times with regards to building fabric. Carry out reactive and breakdown works to all fabric related issues across site but not limited to floors, walls, ceilings, doors and external areas.

Ensure that work meets Health, Safety and Environmental standards in compliance with statutory, regulatory, company and plant requirements.

Main Responsibilities Will Include
  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  • Ensure that suitable spares/materials are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. Provide spares/materials lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works and send out site communications if necessary.
  • Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment, including the wearing of relevant PPE.
  • Ensure that all areas under your responsibility are always locked if applicable and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Supervising and monitoring of sub‑contractors’ works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
  • Ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.
  • Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with BD
    , Health & Safety procedures.
  • Be flexible with your working times towards the end of the day in the event of an emergency or if a critical alarm appears on the BMS.
  • Be proficient on computers to enable you to communicate via email and quote / order parts.
About You
  • Completed secondary school education is essential.
  • Experience with in a Facilities technician position.
  • Good written and spoken English and basic Mathematics skills is essential.
  • Experience in Plumbing, Carpentry or minor building work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self‑motivated.
  • Excellent report writing and PC literate including MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to assess urgency and impact (e.g., safety‑critical vs. routine maintenance).
