Associate – Marine & Shipping Litigation

I am working with a highly regarded, top-tier Shipping team within a well-established law firm that is known for its high-quality work and genuinely positive culture. This role is based in Plymouth and is a standout opportunity for a civil litigator who is looking to specialise in marine and shipping law within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

Senior candidates are also welcome to apply, title can be amended based on experience.

The role sits within a busy Marine department handling predominantly wet shipping matters. The work includes P&I and Defence claims, Admiralty matters such as collisions, pollution incidents and total losses, alongside some non-contentious marine work.

The team places a strong emphasis on training and professional development, taking a practical and innovative approach to building expertise in the sector. They actively encourage industry engagement and support attendance at key marine and shipping events in the UK and internationally.

My client is looking to speak with Civil Litigators with 3+ years’ PQE
. Previous marine or shipping experience is beneficial but not essential; a genuine interest in developing a long-term career in this specialist area is far more important.
