This is a part time position, offering 16 working hours per week.

Main duties of the jobYou will provide consultant‑level clinical expertise to service personnel referred to the regional rehabilitation unit, working closely with sport and exercise medicine (SEM) doctor and physiotherapist colleagues. You will also contribute to the strategic development of Defence Rehabilitation and ensure local implementation of relevant national policy.

Job responsibilitiesDuties will include, but not limited to:
- Assessing highly complex cases using a range of assessment/diagnostic methods and reaching valid, reliable and comprehensive patient and client‑centred conclusions appropriate to needs, context and culture.
- Producing individual treatment and intervention plans for patients with MSKI who require in‑depth diagnosis and management. Typically this could include patients with ACL lesions, acute and persistent shoulder, neck or low back injuries / pain, ankle inversion injuries, and training injuries. However the caseload is very mixed, and frequently interesting.
- Providing training and expert clinical advice within the RRU ensuring that it operates to the highest possible standards of clinical practice.
- You will be able to refer for fast track - imaging and surgery, as well as standard NHS referrals.
