Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant Plymouth, Devon (Onsite) Competitive Salary Our client, a Plymouth-based organisation experiencing continued growth, is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis to strengthen their finance team. As the Financial Accountant, you will work closely with senior management and play a key part in enhancing the quality and integrity of the organisation's financial reporting, compliance, and financial insight.

This is a high-impact, technically focused position, ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical expertise and the ambition to contribute to the ongoing development and strategic direction of the finance function. The responsibilities:
Produce consolidated and entity financial statements in line with IFRS and UK GAAP requirements. Assist with external audits and tax compliance to ensure deadlines and reporting standards are met. Oversee regulatory filings such as Corporation Tax, VAT, import duties, Transfer Pricing, and Intrastat reporting. Keep senior management informed of developments in financial legislation and tax rules, evaluating potential business impacts.

Contribute to the preparation and review of monthly management reporting. Support budgeting cycles, financial forecasts, and business modelling activities. Deliver financial insights and analysis to aid strategic planning and decision-making. Work alongside senior management and the finance teams to improve financial systems, processes, and lease accounting records. The candidate:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge. Demonstrated experience in preparing financial statements, managing consolidations, and improving financial processes. Solid understanding of financial systems, with additional exposure to lease accounting, property finance, or automation tools considered advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, advanced MS Office skills (particularly Excel), and the ability to deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
