Main Responsibilities:
  • With general direction and support, designs mechanical systems and products by applying the principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials engineering.
  • As directed, confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and assisting in testing finished products.
  • With general direction and support, develops mechanical systems by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Working closely with production and leadership, develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Works with customers to establish product requirements within specification parameters and on budget.
  • Selects components based on design specifications and company best practices.
  • Utilizing problem‑solving techniques, identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information and develops alternative solutions.
  • Confirms fabrication, assembly, and installation processes match design.
  • Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Reviews project results and revises design documents based on as‑built revisions.
  • Collects and researches data; using intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Performs project management duties including developing project plans, coordinating projects, communicating changes and progress.
  • Completes projects on time and budget; manages project team activities.
  • Ensures work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
  • Possesses mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Ability to generate solutions by translating concepts and information into images, using feedback to modify designs, applying design principles.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Inventor 3‑D Design and Drawing software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to speak verbally and read in English.
  • Ability to walk.
  • Ability to differentiate colors.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand‑eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
  • Normal hazards related to working in an office environment.
  • Normal hazards related to working in a manufacturing and testing environment.
  • Normal hazards related to road and air travel.
