About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic primary school in Plymouth. This is a full-time position starting immediately, focusing on supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2. You will be the bridge between the teacher's lesson plan and the student's understanding, ensuring every child feels seen, heard, and supported.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, including those with additional learning needs (SEN).
  • Assist the Class Teacher in preparing engaging resources and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
  • Encourage student independence and boost their self-esteem through positive reinforcement.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment following school safeguarding policies.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children (voluntary or paid) is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification is a plus, but a "can-do" attitude is essential!
  • Compliance: You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to process a new one).
  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
