Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join a fast-growing retail business at their Head Office in Plymouth. About the Role

As an Inventory Planner, you will ensure accurate demand forecasts and effective replenishment by managing forecasting outputs, maintaining system accuracy, and providing actionable insights to support stock availability and promotional activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demand Forecasting & Planning
    • Run demand forecasts and place orders based on system outputs and business requirements.
    • Monitor daily forecast outputs and system alerts.
    • Manage SKU/order exceptions, liaising with buying teams.
    • Review and analyse demand patterns to ensure forecasts reflect expected trends, including promotional events.
    • Ensure future promotional activity is correctly loaded into forecasting systems.
    • Collaborate with buying teams on product assortment and forecast exceptions that may impact ordering.
    • Identify SKUs where actual sales significantly deviate from forecasts, investigate anomalies, and ensure model accuracy.
  • Replenishment, Ordering & Allocations
    • Set and review system allocations, ensuring accuracy for future planning.
    • Maintain and create ordering schedules to support efficient stock replenishment.
    • Review store-level promotional allocations and ensure data is accurately captured within the system.
    • Take corrective action on orders that are not regionalised where required.
Person Specification
  • Experience in demand planning, forecasting, replenishment, or supply chain within retail or FMCG.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends or anomalies.
  • Experience with forecasting or replenishment systems is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with BI or analytics tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong commercial awareness and confident communication skills.
