We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Receptionist to join our team at Woodlands Veterinary Group!
Job OverviewThis is a full‑time position, working 40 hours per week with a variable shift pattern. As a Head Receptionist you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals, managing the reception team, staff/holiday rotas and recruitment.
Responsibilities- Answer phones, respond to emails, book appointments, and register new clients.
- Complete insurance forms, dispense medications, take payments and provide a warm, welcoming experience to clients arriving at the clinic.
- Manage the reception team, staff and holiday rotas, and assist with recruitment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams (highly beneficial).
- Previous receptionist or customer‑facing experience (essential).
- Previous veterinary industry experience would be highly beneficial.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and show empathy in all situations.
As a receptionist you will have access to our Client Care Hub, a dedicated space on our Knowledge Hub for all client‑care resources. You will be invited to join a support session within your first few weeks, meet a Learning Partner, and begin your training journey. Additional sessions are available in the next six months.
Salary£27,000 to £30,000 per year (pro rata), depending on experience.
