Overview
The maintenance worker apprentice program will provide hands-on training, education and experience required for a municipal maintenance worker position. The apprentice position will rotate throughout the streets, utilities and parks and forestry divisions over the course of 24 months.
The maintenance worker apprentice will learn to carry out daily operations, maintenance and repair to the city’s various infrastructures which include water and wastewater collection systems, streets, and parks, and forestry.
During the duration of the maintenance worker apprentice program, training and equipment will be provided to allow the candidate the ability to test for a MN Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL), which will include tanker endorsement.
Responsibilities- Carry out daily operations, maintenance and repair to the city’s infrastructures including water and wastewater collection systems, streets, parks, and forestry.
- Apprentice rotates through the streets, utilities, parks and forestry divisions over 24 months.
- Training and equipment provided to enable testing for MN Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
