Job DescriptionService Manager responsible for providing prompt and friendly customer service, supervising staff, ensuring store operations, merchandising, safety, and employee development. Non-exempt, hourly 16–20.
Responsibilities- Maintain a positive store atmosphere, greeting customers, and encouraging employees to greet customers.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service in all interactions.
- Assist customers with product location, lifting, loading, and handling special requests.
- Answer telephone calls promptly with friendly service.
- Lead by example, maintain positive employee relations, and schedule staff.
- Supervise and coordinate staff activities across all store areas.
- Learn and apply store pricing and merchandise guidelines.
- Ensure proper customer service throughout the store and resolve customer issues.
- Evaluate employee performance and recommend personnel actions.
- Train and enforce safety procedures, fill accident forms, and work safely to prevent injuries.
- Compile, store, retrieve, and understand managerial data (sales, inventory, projections).
- Order merchandise, verify delivery, ensure quality, and report discrepancies.
- Train workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties.
- Ensure compliance with established policies, security, sales, and record keeping.
- Determine location of ads and promotional displays and maintain product quality.
- Explain store services to potential customers to generate additional business.
- Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Report to work scheduled and on time.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of related work experience preferred.
- Ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and interview.
- Arithmetic calculation skills (fractions, decimals, percentages).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
- Visual requirements up to 20 feet with correction.
Medium work: exert force up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly. Visual from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with correction. Must perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
