This role leads the establishment of a world-class quality culture at Daikin with the mission to turn quality into a competitive advantage on a global enterprise basis, while reducing fielded quality events and company warranty costs.

The approach focuses on quality throughout the Product Introduction (NPI) process, including development of quality assurance during development and control measures in production and test.

Location: In Office - Plymouth, MN

• Establish a process for applying Quality Assurance Engineering expertise and methodologies for the New Product Introduction (NPI) DP Process of Quality Components, including Product Readiness Reviews, development of control plans for new products, generation of Manufacturing Check Samples (MCS), closure of MCS findings, and official hand-off to QC Team for execution. Ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the process.
• Formulate and maintain quality assurance system improvement objectives that align with corporate policies and goals and set expectations for Quality functions at each manufacturing location.
• Analyze, evaluate, and present information on business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and design and development of new products for management consideration.
• Collaborate with engineering managers to ensure new products meet quality standards in accordance with the NPI and development process and to identify and correct design problems on existing products.
• Oversee quality assurance engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements, including vendor and company quality records.
• Support the development and initiation of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures to solve problems and meet changing market conditions.
• Keep management abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and corrective actions.
• Prepare and present technical and program information to the management team.
• Establish basic quality disciplines (problem solving, data collection, prioritization, and metrics) and develop modifications to the quality improvement program to delineate responsibilities, personnel requirements, and procedures within the program.
• Review data from quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures and recommend solutions or revisions as needed.
• Conduct management meetings with Quality Assurance Managers to establish and review program policies, coordinate functions between departments, and assign responsibilities and procedures to attain objectives.
• Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards; stay informed on technical developments in the field.

• 8 to 10 years of related experience including product development, manufacturing engineering, and operations.
• Track record of successful project management and team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of quality and design engineering, DFMEA & PFMEA application, manufacturing, specifications, testing, and inspections.
• Ability to travel to Daikin s key sites throughout the U.S. and Mexico; some overseas travel may be required.

• 10+ years of related experience.
• Quality Engineer Certificate from American Society for Quality.
• Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), and Lean.
