Zero‑Max is currently recruiting for a Machinist 3 who will be responsible for the set‑up and operation of multiple, complex machines with little or no supervision. Instructs less skilled machinists. This is the top‑level machinist position. Employees at this level should be highly proficient with all less complex machines in the shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Sets‑up machines of a complex nature including horizontal/vertical milling or mill/turn with multi‑axis twin spindles, twin turrets
- Operate machines of a complex nature
- Maintain set‑up sheets for new parts or design changes
- Edit machine programs
- Select proper tooling for different machining sequences
- Instruct less skilled operators
- Perform finishing work such as, deburring, sanding, etc.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace
- Demonstrate Zero‑Max's Core Values
- Associate or technical degree in Machining and 5-7 years’ experience with equipment of a complex nature; or 8-10 years’ experience with equipment of a complex nature; or a combination of education and experience.
- Must be highly proficient at set‑up, operation, determining tooling, process sequences, speeds and feeds, shop mathematics, and thorough on inspection of parts and instruction to others.
- Programming is not a prerequisite for this position but is a plus.
