WhoWe’re Looking For
This position is responsible for leading EHS compliance and strategy for our new Maple Grove MN site and for supporting the transition from Minnetonka MN and Plymouth MN to Maple Grove.
EHS Specialist will develop EHS site goals, in conjunction with Corporate EHS and the site managers, as well as lead EHS strategy execution. This person will ensure EHS compliance, develop and implement systematic processes, and direct continuous improvement projects that will steadily improve EHS performance.
- Support the transition to new site including contractor management, risk identification/mitigation, and the development of site EHS compliance programs.
- Implement an EHS management system consistent with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Identify and obtain required EHS operating permits and licenses.
- Implement processes for collection of required EHS and Sustainability data for internal and external reporting.
- Daily support EHS support of operations and maintenance activities, support establishment of a safety-first culture through shop-floor interaction, risk identification/prevention, focused-recognition, and two-way communication.
- Plan and implement programs to train managers and employees in safe behaviors, environmental aspects, ergonomics, and chemical management and serve as SME for core occupational health and safety programs, industrial hygiene, and emergency preparedness/response.
- Manage Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) requirements to ensure regulatory compliance regarding hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal.
- Bachelor's Degree. Preferred concentrations include Safety Sciences, Occupational Safety, or a closely related field
- 3+ years of experience in EHS program development, implementation, and onsite EHS leadership
- Working knowledge of USEPA, MPCA, OSHA, MNOSHA regulations
- Excellent leadership and program/project management experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
- Medical Device or comparable industry experience strongly preferred
- Implementing and leading EHS management systems consistent with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Ergonomic workstation design, evaluation, and improvement
- Contractor management experience
- Radiation safety experience
- Behavior based safety program implementation
