Daikin Applied is seeking a Mechanical Designer
. The Designer will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Designers will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered. Location

Plymouth, MN – Hybrid
- Create engineering documentation including Solid Works, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards
- Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation
- Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules
- Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills
- Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost effectiveness
- Complete work assignments within a determined time frame and use judgment in determining assignment goals
- Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products
- Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic
- Be part of and function in a team environment including cross functional and inter-departmental teams

- Vocational, Technical, Associates in Design/Drafting, or Engineering Bachelor's Degree
- 0+ years of related experience
- Experience designing in Solid Works or related
- Experience with Excel
- The ability to travel up to 10% (mostly to factories located in MN)
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Experience in sheet metal and tubing design and/or HVAC products
- Experience working with flowcharts and variable geometry
