Position Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, complex capital construction projects within active manufacturing environments. This role provides senior-level oversight from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget—while minimizing disruption to ongoing production.
This position requires a seasoned leader with deep experience in industrial or manufacturing construction, strong financial and risk management capabilities, and the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, engineering, operations, and EH&S teams.
Key Responsibilities Capital Project Planning & ExecutionManage end-to-end construction projects supporting manufacturing operations, including plant expansions, new production lines, equipment foundations, utilities, and facility upgrades.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with production requirements.
Coordinate construction activities within live manufacturing environments to minimize downtime and operational risk.
Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure constructability and alignment with manufacturing needs.
Select, manage, and oversee general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and engineering firms.
Lead contractor safety orientations and enforce site safety expectations.
Track contractor performance, schedules, and deliverables.
Develop and manage capital project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
Review and approve invoices, change orders, and scope modifications.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or production timelines.
Ensure all construction activities comply with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and local building codes.
Enforce strict safety practices in manufacturing and industrial environments.
Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, EH&S, and quality teams.
Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and stakeholders.
Support commissioning, equipment installation, validation, and handoff to operations.
Lead project closeout activities including punch lists, as-built drawings, warranties, and turnover documentation.
Ensure projects are properly commissioned and transitioned to operations and maintenance teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience managing capital construction projects in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Proven experience leading large, complex projects in active production facilities.
Strong understanding of industrial utilities, equipment installation, and production‑critical infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets and complex schedules.
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
OSHA 30 certification.
PMP, CCM, or similar professional certification.
Experience supporting equipment commissioning, validation, and operational handoff.
