Position Summary
We’re looking for a hard‑working individual who would like to join us in developing new product concepts, engineering, manufacturing, and customer support. This Electrical Engineer I position is a hands‑on research and development role focusing on product design. You’ll be a contributing member in our collaborative environment while finding a good amount of autonomy and working with a hard‑working group that contributes to Banner’s ongoing success and growth.
You will play a key role in all stages of product development, from initial technology evaluation and prototype design to successful release of final product and addressing field issues if they arise.
This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Plymouth, MN. It is a 5‑day per week in‑office role.
Base Pay Range: $80,161 - $113,093

Below are some key responsibilities of the role.
- Design analog and digital circuits for industrial safety products.
- Schematic entry and board layout.
- Evaluate electrical designs and sensor performance to ensure the products meet intended requirements.
- Manage product documentation including bill of materials (BOMs), design verification reports, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Provide work direction to technicians as necessary.
- Collaborate with optical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to provide globally competitive products.
- 0–2 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- PCB schematic capture and layout experience.
- Experience with electronic design tools (schematic editor, SPICE, etc.).
- Effective use of troubleshooting and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, custom test platforms, spectrum analyzer, etc.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide timely results.
- Analog / small‑signal electrical design expertise.
- Familiarity with software programming.
- Demonstrated experience in embedded system design.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to multi‑task and thrive in a team environment.
- Experience working in the industrial products industry.
- Sit for up to 8 hours per day.
- Continuous movement, walking, or standing.
- Exposed to a computer screen for extended periods.
- May require repetitive motions such as utilizing a computer mouse, keyboard, computer, and other standard office equipment.
- Communicate with others frequently.
- Corporate office environment – indoor and climate‑controlled.
