Overview

The Field Service Engineer is accountable for supporting the Technical and Engineering operations and will be a key technical representative of CFMOTO to our dealer base and to our manufacturing facilities; will handle escalated service issues, report on warranty claims, and assist with training & development of the technical team.

Accountabilities
  • Responsible for warranty analysis to identify, solve and eliminate service issues.
  • Creates reports for CFMOTO Management and aids in the solution of product related engineering and quality issues.
  • Assists in the development of warranty claim filing guidelines and approvals.
  • Collaborates with the CFMOTO design team to develop safe, efficient, and effective projects that will fall within the guidelines of products sellable within the United States.
  • Troubleshoots as necessary with the technical teams and defines technical resolutions.
  • Analyzes reported problems and develops and tests solutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring product quality and improvements as needed.
  • Travels via air and/or ground for on-site diagnosis and repair in escalated cases (up to 35%).
  • Works with Technical Writer to present detailed service bulletins, product plans, specifications, and roadmaps.
  • Provides mentorship to technical service team.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of technical support, professionalism and projecting a positive image of CFMOTO Powersports.
  • Responsible for operating within standard operating procedures and following all Company Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other duties as required.
Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 2-3 years’ previous experience in similar role within the Powersports industry
  • Ability to travel on short notice via air and/or ground
  • Knowledge of principles of engineering and engineering design experience.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and knowledge of assembly processes
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and reading wire diagrams
  • Strong in troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Determining methodical test processes and documenting results
  • Must be able to collaborate and bridge the communications gap between the Engineering team, Service Technicians, business managers, and dealers, interfacing with each.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • High level negotiation and dispute resolution skills
  • Must possess exceptional organizational and time management skills with an obsessive attention to detail.

Education & Experience Preferred

  • 4-6 years’ previous experience in similar role
  • Experienced in working with foreign suppliers and different cultures

Additional information
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the US
  • Normal schedule is Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm; ability to work required hours
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
  • Requires use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, copy machines
  • Required sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Equipment operation requires specialized training and testing within CFMOTO standards
  • Travel up to 35% via air and/or ground
