Salary Range: $58,700.00 To $76,310.00 Annually
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to be responsible for managing and performing day-to-day accounting functions for a privately held company. This role is heavily AP/AR focused while supporting month end-close activities and maintaining internal controls. The ideal candidate has experience in a project-based or construction environment and enjoys working closely with account executives and project managers, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Duties
- Manage multiple accounts payable inboxes while ensuring accuracy of PO matching, GL coding and the processing of vendor invoices
- Vendor and customer onboarding with compliance maintenance
- Ensure accounts receivable are billed and collected timely
- Monthly project cost tracking and applicable milestone billing
- Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and regulations
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Prepare for audits by ensuring all financial records are current and accurate

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
- 3+ years’ experience required
- Construction or project-based accounting experience required
- Proven experience with AP/AR and GL entry
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial concepts
- Ability to work with diverse teams and meet deadlines
- In-office position
