About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Social Worker to support high school students in grades 9–12 in Plymouth, MI. The ideal candidate will provide direct counseling, collaborate with families and staff, and help build a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment that promotes both emotional and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling for students needing social, emotional, or behavioral support.
  • Conduct assessments and develop evidence-based intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between school teams, families, and community resources.
  • Participate in crisis intervention, safety planning, and restorative practices.
  • Support IEP and 504 processes as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Social Worker license (LMSW or LLMSW) and meet Michigan requirements for School Social Worker approval.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience in a school or youth-serving setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with high school students and diverse family populations.
