Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic III is a senior-level industrial maintenance professional responsible for advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant and production equipment. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and operational efficiency. The Maintenance Mechanic III also provides leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior maintenance team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced industrial maintenance and equipment repair using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and plant equipment
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns, mechanical failures, and system malfunctions
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fluid power systems
- Handle complex mechanical issues and escalate higher-level problems when required
- Monitor equipment performance and perform calibration and precision adjustments
- Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and on-the-job training to junior maintenance mechanics
- Support process documentation, work instructions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to maximize manufacturing uptime
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Typically 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Comprehensive working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fluid dynamics systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
- Powered Industrial Equipment Certification
- Experience in automated or high-volume manufacturing environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts and precision tools
- Ability to work in noisy environments
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work from elevated platforms
