Role Overview
The Used Car Manager is responsible for the strategy, acquisition, pricing, reconditioning, and performance of the used vehicle department.
This is a leadership role, not a desk-holding position.
Key Responsibilities- Acquire and price inventory using real-time market data
- Manage reconditioning timelines and expense to maximize turn
- Maintain competitive online pricing and merchandising standards
- Partner with sales leadership to drive volume and gross
- Analyze performance metrics including turn, days supply, and margin
- Lead by example with urgency, structure, and accountability
- Experience in automotive sales, inventory, or desk management
- Understanding of used vehicle pricing and market trends
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working with numbers and performance data
- Coachable, motivated, and eager to grow
