** Job Overview
** The Diesel Truck Mechanic performs skilled repairs on light and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-powered autos, trucks, and off-road equipment.
** Responsibilities and Duties
*** Perform highest quality repairs and maintenance procedures on all autos, trucks, and off-road vehicles
* Coordinate repairs that will accommodate the needs of the maintenance and construction departments.
* Adhere to instructions given by the VP or lead Mechanic.
* Keep records of time and materials used in each job.
* Supply needed information to document all routine and major repairs.
* Provide and maintain information needed to maintain a substantial parts inventory under the guidance of the VP.
* Inspect and test all shop equipment.
* Maintain high standard of quality of all work performed.
* Follow proper safety procedures and standards on a regular basis.
** Job Requirements
*** High School Diploma or GED
* At least 1 year as a mechanic at the journeyman level in the power equipment industry.
* Knowledge of light and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-powered autos, trucks, and off-road equipment.
* Demonstrate basic technical knowledge of diagnostics, drivability, and electrical.
* Ability to trouble shoot technical repair problems and ability to use computerized or mechanical test and repair equipment.
* Possession of a valid class A, or C.D.L. license.
