You’ll gain exposure to diverse patient populations, practice models, and teamwork dynamics, then bring back insights to your home unit.

Manage core newborn care responsibilities—initial assessments, vitals monitoring (respirations, temperature, heart rate, oxygenation), feeding support (including lactation guidance), jaundice monitoring, and discharge planning. Participate in rounds, collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, case managers, and therapists, and escalate concerns promptly. Practice developmentally appropriate care: promoting skin‑to‑skin, facilitating breastfeeding, and supporting families through education on safe sleep, feeding cues, and growth milestones.
