American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Massachusetts hospital, requiring active MA licensure and prior L&D and postpartum experience.

Job Details

• Work in a 12-bed, private room labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) unit that includes a nursery, 2-bed triage area, and 6-bed postpartum section,

• Staffed collaboratively with obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, pediatricians, neonatologists, and RNs,

• Patient population includes laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns,

• RNs are expected to perform in OR scrub and circulating roles in addition to standard L&D and postpartum duties,

• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM,

• Rotating weekends and holidays required,

• 13-week assignment,

Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts (MA) RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration,

• Minimum certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced),

• Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required,

• Mother/Baby (postpartum) experience required,

• Evidence of recent EFM continuing education, or completion within 3 months of hire,

• OR circulating and scrub experience preferred,

• Experience in a continuing care, special care nursery, or NICU environment preferred,

Additional Information

• RNs must pass both a Dysrhythmia (ECG/Tele) test and a Medication test, each 20 questions, administered via Zoom prior to the start of the assignment - passing score is 85% with no retakes or remediation allowed; a study guide will be provided,

• Testing must be completed within 48 hours of assignment confirmation,

• COVID vaccine (including booster) and flu vaccine required; medical exemptions are accepted,

• Orientation is conducted on a biweekly basis,

• An interview with the nurse manager is required; availability for interview must be provided at time of consideration,

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible - local travelers will not be accepted,

• Candidates who have previously worked at any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility (travel, permanent, or per diem) must have a minimum 6-month break before being considered,
