Hematology​/Oncology Physician

Summary:
An outpatient Hematology/Oncology service is seeking a locum physician to support a newly established service line beginning March 2026. This role focuses exclusively on outpatient care with a balanced hematology and oncology case mix.

Schedule & Coverage:

• Dates of coverage:
  March 2026 through March 2027

• Outpatient clinic only; no inpatient call or rounding responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Outpatient Hematology/Oncology

• Adult and geriatric patient population

• Case mix: approximately 50% hematology and 50% oncology

• Average outpatient volume: 30 patients per day

• EMR:
  Epic

Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures:

• Management of VAD/CV catheters

• Bone marrow biopsies

• Participation in tumor board

• Management of bone marrow transplant patients

• Ordering tests and imaging

• Blood bank coordination

• Prescribing treatments

• Chemotherapy administration in collaboration with nursing and oncology staff

Credentialing:

• Estimated timeframe: 60 days with an active state license; 90 days without

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Board Certified (ABMS or AOA; competency in the alternate pathway required)

• Active state medical license or IMLC with LOQ in hand

• BLS certification required
