HDR is seeking a Structures Project Manager to work on our Bridge program. The primary duties include planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of large multi-discipline transportation projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity. The role may involve coordinating several projects concurrently, establishing client relations, and participating in marketing, contract, design, and production meetings. You will conduct schematic design development and contract document work sessions with Project Managers, technical professionals, and other disciplines.

You will coordinate staffing and workload management throughout the project lifecycle to ensure documents are completed on schedule, and you will collaborate with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller, or Department Manager for project reviews.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multi-discipline transportation projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project lifecycle to complete documents on schedule.
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  • Conduct schematic design development and contract document sessions at project sites with Project Managers, technical professionals, and other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with leadership on project reviews and staffing decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS degree in Structural Engineering.
  • PE in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum 10 years of bridge/structural design experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects with a focus on PennDOT projects.
  • Experience using Micro Station and typical structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the LRFD Bridge Design Code.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams.
  • Mentoring and teaching staff aptitude.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Excellent marketing and business development skills.
  • Experience managing staff, clients, and contracts.
  • Preference given to local candidates.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum 2 years of project management experience
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be a plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
