The Forensic Science Internship at RJ Lee Group offers hands-on experience supporting active criminal forensics research projects within our nationally recognized criminal forensics laboratory. Interns work closely with our scientists and technical staff, contributing to ongoing research with a focus on primer gunshot residue (pGSR) analysis and related forensic methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist forensic scientists in research related to gunshot residue, including sample preparation, particle analysis, and data organization.
- Conduct literature reviews and gather supporting scientific research under staff direction.
- Help maintain laboratory documentation, records, and research logs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Participate in basic laboratory tasks, including safe handling of samples, routine equipment upkeep, and proper documentation.
- Support ongoing forensic projects assigned by team as needed.
- Currently completing at least two years of college in a forensics oriented program, such as Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biology, Criminal Justice with forensic concentration, or a related scientific discipline.
- Strong interest in forensic laboratory work and scientific research.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Must be able to work onsite in the lab during the internship period.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point

End of summer (flexible based on academic schedules)
- Full-time or part-time schedule options depending on department needs.
