Job Description
Entry‑level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieving our sales and service objectives. The role requires solid knowledge of store systems, basic automotive and part knowledge, and the ability to source parts from stores, hubs, PDQs, and external suppliers. It also demands in‑depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. The position can be part‑time or full‑time, and fleet safety certification is preferred.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store reach its sales targets.
- Perform DIY services such as battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Handle inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facings, dusting, and parking lot.
- General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Proficiency using the delivery board system.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operational competence with inventory systems and store equipment.
- Knowledge of parts and automotive systems.
- Proficiency with POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills for a Salesperson
- Speak and write English;
Spanish is a plus. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management. - Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

The duties of this role involve predominantly walking or standing. The employee must be able to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
This position is typically performed inside the store, but occasionally outside. Employees may be exposed to weather conditions, mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.
Compensation Range15.95 USD PER HOUR – 16.95 USD PER HOUR
